Betting Spy: Man City to kill off Arsenal quickly

I’m really tempted to raid the old piggy bank this weekend and have a decent wedge on Man City to blow Arsenal away at the Emirates.

City are starting to look ominous again while the Gunners simply look bewildered whenever they face anyone above fifth in the table.

Yaya Toure should have the freedom of North London and I can see him and David Silva running riot through Arsenal’s very soft middle.

Paddy Power is odds against on an away win and that 11/10 should be snapped up while it lasts.

And City are sure to come out of the traps fast so let’s also have a crack at the 9/4 about City being ahead at half time and full time.

If the residents of Highbury are upset about the football currently being served-up then spare a thought for us poor Eastenders having to sit through the Sam Allardyce show on a regular basis.

Now Big Sam has never seemed a man unduly bothered by his popularity ratings with the punters.

But this week must surely have been a new low when he was roundly booed after actually winning a match.

Allardyce and West Ham was always a football marriage doomed to failure.

And a growing band of fans have decided they’ve had enough of his dinosaur hoofball and watching the sort of dross which would shame Hackney Marshes.

Sam has sucked all creativity out of the Hammers – leaving them a safety-first shell of a team who are clueless going forward and defend every set piece with eleven men in the box.

No other team still plays like that in the Premier League. Even Stoke are now easier on the eye than West Ham.

Punters pay £50 plus a match to visit the Boleyn. And they want to be entertained.

Most professional footballers are, funnily enough, quite good at football and can do things us amateurs can only dream of.

But if it’s drilled into you by the boss to be cautious and defensive then the flare side of the game suffers.

West Ham have a good enough squad to survive comfortably in the Premier League and play good football.

But things need to change quickly or most spectators visiting West Ham’s new home at Stratford will only be there to admire the Olympic Stadium.
