Anglo American confirmed today that it is selling its stake in the joint venture to equal partner Lafarge for £885m.

Once it owns the entire firm, Lafarge plans to sell it to gain approval from competition watchdogs for its merger with Swiss rival Holcim.

Lafarge confirmed a series of planned disposals across Europe today including “the UK: Lafarge Tarmac assets with the possible exception of one cement plant.”
