The Enquirer understands that Ardmore has beaten-off rivals Balfour Beatty, Beck Interiors and McLaren Construction to the contract which could be worth over £60m.
The conversion of the Grade I-listed Midland Bank HQ at 27 Poultry, will see the famous large bank vault featured in the James Bond film Goldfinger, transformed into a swanky underground bar.
Plans also include building a roof top swimming pool and bar in the 255-room hotel, which will be run by the Soho House group
One rival bidder said: “It hasn’t been made official yet but it looks like Ardmore have got this one sewn-up so the rest of us have missed out.”
