ERH has been working on a number of highways sites across the city since the summer.

Local residents said that tools have now been downed on the sites and mystery surrounds the reasons for the stoppage.

ERH declined to comment on the situation.

A spokesman for Bath & North East Somerset Council said: “The council is liaising with ERH Group to establish exactly what the situation is and to ensure that the works will continue.”

ERH was working on the £760,000 London Road improvement scheme, the £540,000 Keynsham Highways Works contract and the £1.5m Rossiter Road improvements for the council.
