On-site works are due to start this month and will be worth around £30m a year to the contractor, running for three years, with a further option for a two year extension.
The work entails supporting Western Power Distribution to maintain and enhance the electricity network across the Midlands, ranging from the installation of 11kV to 33kV distribution cables.
As part of the framework deal, Morgan Sindall will carry out both planned and reactive works.
In order to meet Ofgem targets, the team must respond to reactive works within one hour of call out.
Simon Smith, Utility Services managing director at Morgan Sindall, said: “This framework agreement expands on the work which Morgan Sindall is currently undertaking for Western Power Distribution in the north Midlands. This is a key win for our Utility Services business.”
