The purchase of one of the North West’s leading plant hire companies extends Chippindale’s reach across the Pennines allowing it to serve customers across the north of England.

Chippindale Plant will now operate from a network of eight depots and employ over 100 staff.

As part of the deal with Wilmslow, Chippindale has also purchased AG Site Services – a leading provider of steel worksite units – including temporary offices, canteens, WCs and storage containers.

Joint Managing Director, Nigel Chippindale said: “Acquiring Wilmslow is the perfect geographical match and the deal comes at the right time in our expansion programme.

“Their range of plant and equipment is a mirror image of our own and it will be a seamless fit. The process of re-branding the Stockport depot and the equipment will begin straight away.”

All staff at Wilmslow Plant, which has been trading since 1946 will be retained and Chippindale will immediately begin investing in the depot, new equipment and expanding the workforce.
