The Vacancy – Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Midlands

We’re seeking a proactive and motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our established professional teams in our Midland region for Torsion Construction Limited.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor on a project you’ll bring your experience of regularly reporting on project performance and working successfully alongside other site-based construction professionals. In addition, you will be responsible for:

• Assisting with the drafting of all necessary documentation for procurement of sub-contractors and suppliers and assisting to ensure that other contributors for constituent parts provide their procurement information on time

• Supporting the monitoring of cost control and implementing cost mitigation strategies, assessing risk, acting fairly and reasonably at all times

• Establishing and developing productive and professional working relationships with all stakeholders with whom you are likely to engage externally such as the supply chain and design team, which may include members of the Employer’s team.

• Adapting to changing situations and reacting professionally, managing your time to prioritise

• Understanding the contract and its constituent parts sufficient to appreciate the principal risks and opportunities that will need management on the project

You will bring;

A Degree Qualification/be working towards one in Quantity Surveying

Industry Experience: Construction site based commercial experience

Superb organisation skills, including time management, prioritisation of tasks and self-motivation

Excellent verbal and written communication skills as you’ll be working with diverse groups of people

A friendly “can do” approach, actively promoting and supporting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion with anyone you work with

A keen eye for detail and a passion for quality

We’d love if you had experience with multi-room projects but this isn’t essential.
